Livingston Hills Staff Walk to End Breast Cancer

In continuing a new tradition that has begun at Livingston Hills, members of our staff, along with family members and other supporters, participated in this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk which took place on Oct. 15th in Washington Park in Albany.

Team members sported Livingston Hills’ custom made pink sweatshirts and are continuing to do their part to raise awareness. So far, Team Livingston has raised $500 and is still working to raise funds throughout the month. As part of their fundraiser, they are selling shirt. If you’re interested in purchasing one or making a donation, please contact Livingston Hills today.

Livingston Hills in the Community

Our staff at Livingston Hills enjoys the time spent with our residents, but we also look forward to opportunities to go out into the community and meet our neighbors. Recently, we had two chances to meet the public, share information about Livingston Hills, and provide free blood pressure screenings.

The first was at Senator Kathy Marchione’s annual Golden Gatherings event at Columbia Green Community College in Greenport, which we attended on October 17th.

The second was the Senior Expo at the Crossgates Mall on October 23rd.

If you see our booth in the future, be sure to stop by and speak with us about our services and programs.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

Throughout the month of October, the staff at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation BreastCancerWalkCollage2Center has been collecting donations to support breast cancer research. This weekend on Oct. 18, they took their efforts a step further and participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Washington Park.

Through their joint efforts, the Livingston Hills raised $1000 and had 24 staff members participate in the 3.1-mile walk. Despite the chilly weather, and snow, everyone had a great time and were proud to show their support for a great cause. Those wishing to make a donation can still do so through the American Cancer Society or the Making Strides website at www.makingstrideswalk.org.
