Getting Ready for Halloween with National Pumpkin Day

Yesterday was National Pumpkin Day, and with the help of our Activities Department, Livingston Hills residents decorated a number of pumpkins to prepare for Halloween. Some residents used stickers to create faces while our Director of Activities, Chris, helped to hallow out and carve the larger pumpkins. With that we were all ready for Halloween and our upcoming party!

Livingston Hills Staff Walk to End Breast Cancer

In continuing a new tradition that has begun at Livingston Hills, members of our staff, along with family members and other supporters, participated in this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk which took place on Oct. 15th in Washington Park in Albany.

Team members sported Livingston Hills’ custom made pink sweatshirts and are continuing to do their part to raise awareness. So far, Team Livingston has raised $500 and is still working to raise funds throughout the month. As part of their fundraiser, they are selling shirt. If you’re interested in purchasing one or making a donation, please contact Livingston Hills today.

Residents Celebrate Octoberfest

Livingston Hills residents welcomed Fall with their annual Octoberfest celebration. Our activities room was filled with residents and staff enjoying a selection of beverages, including nonalcoholic beer, pretzels and apple strudel. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the day.

Music was also provided by Bobby Val, a long-time favorite of Livingston Hills.

Livingston Hills Holds 3rd Annual Community Day Event

On September 10th, the staff at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center hosted its 3rd Annual Community Day event, attracting approximately 300 people. The event was held outside of the skilled nursing facility at 2781 Route 9 and was free for all members of the community, residents, and their family members.

We were happy to have with us this year Lisa Wood from About Face for Face painting, Two by Two Zoo, DJ Jack Bogarski, Jackie Reynolds as Bee Bee the Clown, Bindelestiff Family Cirkus, and all our vendors.

A selection of food and beverages were available for free at the barbecue along with a pie roast, popcorn and snow cones. We like to give a thank you as well to Kodi Stack Closson who was our photographer and to SMS Rentals for the bounce houses, dunk tank, and other supplies.

Thank you to everyone who came out and we look forward to seeing you at next year’s event on September 9, 2017.

Livingston Hills Goes to the Columbia County Fair

Recently, a group of residents from Livingston Hills went to spend the day at the Columbia County Fair. While there, they stopped by our booth to say hello and take a few pictures. They also saw a tractor pull, they enjoyed pizza and lemonade. There were plenty of games as well and one lucky resident won two gold fish who have now found a new home with the rest of our fish at the Livingston Hills.

When they came back from the fair, they were just in time for the Tribal Drum Circle, which has started to become a regular treat at Livingston Hills. It was a wonderful way to end a fun-filled day.

Balloon Smash!

Our Balloon Smash activity at Livingston Hills keeps growing in popularity.

Each time our residents get together for this event, the group gets bigger and bigger. It’s wonderful exercise, and a lot of fun!
